Allantoin is a compound that is naturally occuring in the human body, in animals and in plants. It can also be produced synthetically. When incorporated in over-the-counter products (aka OTCs) at concentrations of 0.5-2%, Allantoin acts as a skin protectant. It helps to prevent + protect from drying effects of wind and cold weather + helps relieve chapped skin. Additionally, this skin soothing ingredient works to temporarily protect minor cuts, scrapes, and burns.
Our multi-purpose healing ointment can be used as often as needed. Ensure that you apply it to clean + dry skin each time that it’s used.
